I would just like to take a moment to highlight this masterpiece for those who haven't played.First a quick history: Grim Fandango was originally released by LucasArts in 1998 for Windows, at the end of the era of adventure games which had been marked by juggernauts such as Myst or The Secret of Monkey Island. Due to the timing of this release, Grim Fandango was marked as a commercial failure.
By the mid to late 2000's adventure games were once again on the rise and Grim Fandango started receiving interest from the gaming community. Unfortunately copies of the game had become few and far between, and due to to the limitations of outdated PC operating system requirements to it was difficult to actually play the game even if you got your hands on a copy. It wasn't until 2015 - 17 years after it's initial release - that the game would be widely accessible through the release of Grim Fandango Remastered.Grim Fandango is an amazing and unique story which takes place in several beautifully-illustrated worlds. It boasts a stunning original soundtrack and a cast of memorable characters. To say that the puzzles are challenging is an understatement - it is VERY difficult to beat the game without using a strategy guide. The amount of love that the development team put into the world-building, music, scenery and dialogue is comparable to Earthbound.I know many of you have played and enjoyed Grim Fandango, but for those of you who had not had the opportunity prior to it's Switch release, I hope this post will motivate you to look into it!.
