GOG has announced that given its recent closure. This will save Sword of the Stars: The Pit fans from being without access to their game and DLC. GOG is offering a way to transfer the game from a Shinyloot copy to a GOG copy.

Posted: 11 AprilA top class Roguelike, SotS: The Pit delivers an excellent experience. Game is simple enough to pick up, but challenging to master, just like it should be. While the basics are straightforward, there's a lot of depth to combat and abilities that allows for a lot of experimentation and different strategies.The different difficulty settings makes the game easily accessible to anyone, from newbies to pros of the genre. For those that enjoy unlocking things, there's a list of recipes and messages to find that carry over between all your games, so there's always more to find.Each character has their own strengths, and while (with a huge amount of work) you could potentially make everyone max out, they do each play best to their own roles. The DLC characters add a lot more variety and new abilities and features to play with.There is some decent humour and silliness in the game, but it doesn't detract from the overall feeling of danger as you explore deeper and deeper into the planet.Also, as someone who was never a fan of the Sword of the Stars RTS games, I had no problems jumping into this world and losing myself in it.
