TL;DR - Difficulty is kicking my ass, weapon suggestions for early/mid game?Edit: What are you plans for end game weapons? Draconic Evolution?I've been playing this pack off and on for a few weeks and I've gotten to difficulty 92. I've been using my demonic cleaver for a while and the damage is alright, but obviously kind of slow.
I've watched a few youtubers and I haven't really gotten a great idea for dealing with 150hp zombies and the like. I'm finally in the overworld and could go to some of the other dimensions, but exploration is getting pretty rough. Any tips?. Try a Paper/Bone/Magma Slime/Manyullyn Shuriken (if you don't have the latter materials, start with whatever is your highest damage material, but be sure to swap them eventually).Start by leveling them up and making them indestructible, then add Quartz to boost damage, and finally add Blaze Powder to improve your damage further, and set overworld enemies ablaze (this comboes with Magma Slime's Superheated). Add Luck, and when you finally get spare modifiers, swap the Paper part for something else (another Manyullyn blade doesn't hurt, for instance). Some weapons (vanilla, actually additions, others) are able to level up(press k while holding it). Once hitting level 3, I have found the best thing is void damage.
It will somtimes one shot an infernal wither boss when they still have 100s of health. I've enchanted the crap out of a using books made from mob farm items. Always remember memorial day. It and my is all I use now.

I was doing the same with a diamond sword before. Also if you have the resources, keep crafting it until it is legendary or even archaic, this adds damage to it.Get a cursed earth farm going asap, don't trash all the fishing poles and other weapons/armor. You can use the draconic disenchantment table on them to retrieve enchanted books for use on your stuff.Don't forget the 'L' leveling, you lose these skills when you die, but the raw damage perk, and the sneaking damage ones are very powerful.
The sneak one comes in handy if you make a room where you can 'pull' pigmen and only see their feet via use of half slabs.
